NEW YORK, June 6 – Michael Jordan’s game-winning shot in Game 6 of The 1998 Finals, which captured the Chicago Bulls’ sixth championship, has been named the greatest playoff moment among the 60 Greatest Playoff Moments in NBA History according to fans around the world in 180 countries who voted on NBA.com. The ranking was revealed tonight during a special NBA TV telecast, The 60 Greatest Playoff Moments: The Top 10. ESPN will have a special presentation of the show on Thursday, June 8 at 7:30 p.m. ET.

A panel of basketball experts, comprised of high-profile print, Internet and broadcast journalists, as well as NBA legends, were invited to select the 60 Greatest Playoff Moments in NBA History. The panelists’ selection of the top 10 moments was then posted on NBA.com in chronological order beginning on Wednesday, May 24, and fans had the opportunity to vote on the site to help rank them as they saw fit up until Monday, June 5.

The 60 Greatest Playoff Moments in NBA History expert panel included 11-time NBA champion with the Boston Celtics and Hall of Famer Bill Russell; six-time NBA champion with the Chicago Bulls and ESPN NBA studio analyst Scottie Pippen; two-time NBA champion, Hall of Famer and ABC/ESPN analyst Bill Walton; TNT play-by-play announcer Marv Albert; USA Today writer David DuPree; Sports Illustrated writer Jack McCallum and ESPN.com writer Bill Simmons as well as many others.
