Magic's Super Bowl Picks and Barnes' Analysis

After perfectly predicting the conference championship games last week – down to the coin flip in the NFC game – I’ve been getting a lot of questions this week if I plan on becoming an NFL analyst after my playing days are over. It’s just that football is a sport that I grew up on and love and still follow like a big fan, so I know the game. We’ll just see what happens this week.

The Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world. It’s probably the most watched game of any sport this year. It’s going to be amazing. So each team is going to have to come with their ‘A’ game. I think once you get to this point all the butterflies are out of your system. However, the Saints are playing in the Super Bowl for the first time, so they’ll probably have a few of them in their system until the ball is kicked off.

It’s going to be a shootout featuring two high powered offenses. I think the team to make the fewest mistakes is going to win.

With Peyton Manning, Reggie Wayne and the key components of their offense having been here before, they definitely have an advantage. Just to know how to put all your nerves aside and go out there and play is an advantage.

But at the same time, I think New Orleans will be focused. If Indianapolis defensive end Dwight Freeney doesn’t play that’s going to do a lot for the Saints, because the Colts won’t be able to get as much pressure on New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees. The way Brees has played this entire year, I see him having a strong Super Bowl.

You never want to bet against Peyton Manning, ever, ever, ever. But with that being said, I look at New Orleans special teams, I see a few big plays from Saints safety Darren Sharper and I expect running back Reggie Bush to come to play. So when it comes down to it, I think New Orleans will win.
